NEW YORK
As part of my bachelor's thesis, I investigated the influence of time of day and lighting settings on the aesthetics of films. As a practical implementation of this research, I carried out a project in New York that explored the different aspects of day and night scenes. The results of this work were used for a survey and further research purposes. They clearly show that the use of day and night scenes has a significant influence on the aesthetic impact of a film. Through this project, I not only wanted to demonstrate the theoretical concepts of my research, but also provide practical applications and insights for film production.
As a city that never sleeps, it offers an endless variety of visual impressions and cultural influences. The topic of aesthetics has a special meaning for me, as it plays a significant role in the perception of things. During my stay in New York, I focused intensively on capturing aesthetic impressions through photography and videography. From the glittering lights of the skyline to the hidden corners of the city, I tried to capture the unique beauty and diversity of New York in my shots. By carefully selecting perspectives, compositions and lighting settings, I tried to capture the special atmosphere and vibrant life of New York.
